A New Look

I don't know about you, but I am forever changing things. Whether it's a fresh coat of paint on the walls or rearranging the furniture, little things can make all the difference. On Saturday a friend and I strolled around a small town full of charm and inspiration. I was so caught up in the atmosphere I immediately decided I had to move there and start my own business. Coffee shop/bookstore/vintage accessories/rustic home decor. I can already see the window displays. Ha! This probably won't happen, but it did set the tone for my next home decorating project. Mixing the rustic with the new and adding in a hint of Gothic for an eclectic look that will for sure warm my heart. Now I just need to convince the husband.

(An old wooden shutter wrapped in grapevine. I can see this acting as an interior window treatment)

(An old wooden farm ladder wrapped in grapevine and twinkling lights. Can't you picture that propped against a wall or hanging from the ceiling?)

So after my inspiring trip to smalltownville, I just had to give my website a fresh look. Small changes, big effect.  There is nothing rustic about the design, but it has the edgy tone that reflects my writing style.

Let me know what you think: Elle J Rossi

What have you changed lately?

  1. I love it!!! Your dream store sounds like the one I would love to own. Reminds me of the store in The Ghost Whisperer.

Change is always good and I'm sure my blog will have a fresh look in a couple of months if not sooner. It's boring to look at the same thing everyday.

    Love and hugs, V.

  3. I would be honored if you did. Make it dark and a little witchy with a bit of faery. Think you can do that?

  4. It's gorgeous, Elle. I've been wanting to redecorate mine for awhile now, but I just haven't had the time to mess with it yet.

I will and might just tap into your brain power on how to go about adding to the design. Lots of new templates and more than a few ideas. We'll see if I can carve out some time.

  6. Thanks, Sia! One of my favorite things to do is bat around ideas. You just pick the time and I am all yours!

  7. Well, I've got a ladder. It's among some of the things I'm clearing out of my son's garage! You'd probably find going through his stuff intriguing. :-)
    Me? Not so much.
Checked out your website pages. So very you! You're so creative, woman.

  8. Hi Casey, and thank you! I would most definitely find it intriguing! What's that saying? Someone's trash is another's treasure or something like that. If you ever want to part with your ladder you just give me a call!

  9. Your website looks hot, Elle! Hot as in wickedly dark, that is! And I love it!

The lights & twigs around the light fixture has an appealing, artsy look. Very unique. I'd definitely go for it.

  10. Thank you, Ms. Alyson! Since wicked is my new favorite word, I love the compliment! I think I may have an "in" with someone who has a ladder. Soooo excited!
