Shadows lurk in every corner, swimming in the air like ghostly sharks, waiting, biding their time. The brave souls take surefooted steps, challenging the shadows and the message they bring. The timid squint into the darkness as the buzz in their head wars with the pounding of their heart, always under the perception of what they don't know can't really hurt them.
Which person are you? A warrior? A watcher? A combination of the two?
I'm both, and I'm not hedging here. But which type I am depends on the situation and my sense of injustice or threat.
ReplyDeleteI'm a warrior. You gotta fight for yourself and for those who can't.
ReplyDeleteI'm both as well, Casey. There have been many situations where I hang back rather than trudging forward. May not have been the best plan, but my feet were rooted to the spot.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Vivienne. I'm becoming stronger every day! One day I'll be able to call myself a warrior rather than a watchior. Or maber that's a wartcher!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the trembling scaredy cat over in the corner, hoping the warrior and the watcher will do something amazing so I can write about it!
ReplyDeleteFor sure, I'm a combo of the two.:-)

I love that, Ann! Yes, as writers we are always observing, aren't we?
ReplyDeleteYep, Sia! Once again you and I are very much alike!
